St. Michael Catholic Elementary School opened its doors to the Niagara-on-the-Lake community in 1962. In 2002, St. Michael Catholic Elementary School was expanded to allow for the consolidation with St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Elementary School, allowing all Catholic elementary students in Niagara-on-the-Lake to attend school together.
Led by a team of professional Catholic educators who foster a safe, inclusive environment, where all who enter are treated with respect and dignity, nearly 275 students in kindergarten through Grade 8 learn and grow together in faith at St. Michael Catholic Elementary School today.
Named for St. Michael, one of three angels mentioned by name in the Bible, St. Michael Catholic Elementary School is the Home of the Lightning (future Holy Cross Raiders).
St. Michael is part of the Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School family of schools and the St. Vincent de Paul parish community.
